Saturday 12th SeptemberDean Atta

Dean Atta poet and writer will be performing on stage as part of Poet In The City.   Dean has been commissioned to write poems for the Damilola Taylor Trust, Keats House Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain and Tate Modern. Atta won the 2012 London Poetry Award and was named as one of the most influential LGBT people by the Independent on Sunday Pink List 2012. His debut poetry collection “I Am Nobody’s Nigger” was published in 2013 by The Westbourne Press.

Supa Fine sends congratulations to Zara McFarlane and Shabaka Hutchings of Son Of Kemet

On Wednesday 10th June 2015 was a night with serious jazz in mind because it was Jazz FM Awards.  It was held at Great Halls @ Vinopolis, London Bridge.  The night had a mixer of awards and performances which included Rebecca Ferguson.

Jazz FM second awards had a number of awards in different categories ranged from UK Jazz Act of the Year (public vote) sponsored by Yamaha which went to Manchester band GoGo Penuin.

Saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings and band leader of Son Of Kemet got his hands on Instrumentalist Of The Year sponsored by CityJet.

Vocalist of the Year sponsored by CityJet went to the lovely Zara McFarlane which works with pianist Peter Edwards who was nominated  Breakthrough Act sponsored by Aberdeen Asset Management.

Mohammed Yasya & Sarina Leah of Native Sun have kept themselves busy from when they formed 2010.  They have been promoting through a variety of Tours across Europe, Sudan, Mexico and U.S since their debut album “Indigenous Soundwaves”.  Even with their busy schedule touring and getting involved in other project’s outside music.  They have found time to record a new album “Mother Tongue”.  The new single “Day By Day” from the forthcoming album will be released 23.03.15
